01 — WHAT'S A COOKIE?Quick definition
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It's used to remember things like login state, preferences, or analytics data. Some are essential (the site won't work without them), and some are optional (used for tracking or marketing).
We only use the essential, anonymous kind, and not many of those.
02 — WHAT WE USECookies on crestics.com
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare bot management. Prevents automated abuse. | Essential | 30 minutes |
| cookieconsent | Remembers if you've acknowledged this policy (so we don't show the banner twice) | Essential | 1 year |
That's it. We don't currently use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, or any third-party cookies that fingerprint or follow you across the web.
03 — ANALYTICSHow we measure traffic
If we add analytics in the future, we'll use a privacy-respecting tool (like Plausible, Fathom, or Cloudflare Analytics) that:
- Doesn't set cookies on your device
- Doesn't store IP addresses or personal data
- Doesn't track users across other websites
- Is fully GDPR / CCPA / PECR compliant by default
If we add it, we'll update this page first.
04 — THIRD-PARTY EMBEDSWhat can change this
If we embed external content (e.g., a YouTube video, Calendly widget, or Stripe checkout), those tools may set their own cookies governed by their own policies. We try to keep these embeds minimal.
Currently embedded third parties (if any):
- Google Fonts:for typography. Google may log requests to its font CDN. Google's policy
05 — YOUR CHOICESHow to control cookies
You can control cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- Block all cookies (note: some sites, including ours, may break)
- Block third-party cookies only
- Delete existing cookies
- Set up notifications when a site sets a cookie
Browser-specific instructions: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge
06 — CHANGESUpdates to this policy
If we add new cookies (e.g., adding analytics), we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we'll show a banner on first visit.
